The Manfrotto HiLite backgrounds range allows the photographer to work in a way that was extremely difficult to achieve in the past, ‘High Key’ photography on location and in restrictive spaces. By rear lighting the white background itself there is no longer a need to use a background light behind the subject. Furthermore, because the background is actually illuminated it means the subject can stand virtually right in front of it without casting a shadow. The HiLite backgrounds also works as a large rear softbox and illuminates the subject as well, meaning you can use just one other flash head to light the subject from the front. In order to "whiten" a background nicely and evenly, several light sources and a large studio space are usually required so that the background lighting can be placed so that the light spreads evenly over the entire background, without hitting the subject. The Manfrotto HiLite drastically simplifies this type of photography. Even on a small surface and with few light sources, it is possible to get an even, white background with the subject placed close to the background.

Perfect in all environments

Thanks to the fact that HiLite can stand on its own without an extra stand, and that the lighting is placed to the side of the background, the set-up takes up very little space. The subject can be placed very close because the lighting takes place "from within" the HiLite and is spread very evenly over the large surface.

Both background and softbox

The flexible construction means that HiLite can also be used as a large softbox (similar to a window light). The slim design of the HiLite has a big advantage, which means that even small studios can have access to both a really large softbox and a completely white background.

Unique construction

Manfrotto HiLite has a unique design and can be compared to a large light box. The background is vivacious, i.e. it can be placed freely onå the floor without a stand. As a light source, a studio flash is used, which is placed so that it shines into the short side of the HiLite and shines out the entire front screen. The location of the flash, next to the HiLite, means that the floor space required is very small. When the background is not in use, it can be folded completely flat and becomes då only a third of its size.
