PocketWizard FlexTT5 - Nikon Transceiver - Nikon (CE 433MHz)
PW-FLEX-N-CE

The dedicated FlexTT5® Transceiver for Nikon is part of a new generation of PocketWizard ControlTL radios with i-TTL and remote power control for Nikon Speedlights, and select studio lights. Your creativity also now extends far beyond X-Sync speeds with HyperSync and FP Sync capabilities.

With its built in hot-shoe, ControlTL™ firmware and transceiver function, the FlexTT5 is the perfect addition to Nikon CLS / i-TTL flash system and takes the Nikon CLS system beyond the boundaries of infrared technology.  When paired with the MiniTT1® Transmitter or another FlexTT5 Transceiver, a whole new world of wireless flash freedom opens up. The FlexTT5 is also the perfect Transceiver for your manual triggering needs and works with all MultiMAX channels and many of the MultiMAX advanced functions.

On camera, the FlexTT5 works identically to the MiniTT1 with the convenience of AA batteries. The system tracks your changes in ISO and aperture and reacts accordingly to make sure exposures stay right on target. Use the exposure compensation dial on your camera to remotely adjust your flash output. Mount a flash or command unit on the FlexTT5 to use the same zone controls as you would normally. Slip in the AC3 ZoneController for Nikon and use its simple interface to control three zones of lights.

With PocketWizard's patent pending HyperSync™ Technology, the FlexTT5 allows you to use sync speeds beyond your camera's x-sync, up to 1/8000th of a second with some camera/strobe combinations, giving you the control you've always been looking for.  With ControlTL Firmware Upgrade 6.0, HyperSync is automated and HyperSync timing is now adjusted in two seperate places - on the transmitter and on the receiving ControlTL radio. The transmitting or on-camera MiniTT1 or FlexTT5 automatically adjusts HyperSync to compensate for changes made to shutter speed. Photographers can further refine HyperSync via the PocketWizard Utility.  Learn more HyperSync Automation at wiki.pocketwizard.com/hypersync.

You can also use your camera's High Speed Sync /FP mode with Nikon speedligths with the convenience and freedom of radio reliability.  Use any shutter speed or f-stop you want no matter where you place your flash.

Under a remote flash, the FlexTT5 is your seamless connection to remote power control. Select one of three zones, and add as many lights to each zone as you like. Run one zone in manual and another in i-TTL and control it all from your camera. Place your flashes where you want to; hide them or use them in bright daylight.

More Flexibility.  Use the FlexTT5's camera sync port to trigger a remote camera.  Use the flash port to trigger any manual flash. The FlexTT5 also has our Auto-Sensing Transceiver Technology that enables it to switch back and forth between Transmitter and Receiver modes as needed for greater flexibility on the job. When a hot-shoe or other trigger is detected, it automatically switches to Transmitter mode.

With Auto Relay Mode you can easily trigger a remote camera in sync with remote flash.  Put a camera where you can’t be and use remote TTL or manual lighting at the same time.  Expand your coverage and increase your creativity.

The FlexTT5 has two channel configuration settings; C1 and C2.  Each can be programmed as needed with up to 20 ControlTL channels* for TTL photography, or 32 standard channels** for manual flash photography.  The FlexTT5 Transceiver also has a three-zone selector switch for ease of use with Nikon zones and ratios.
 * - 20 ControlTL channels for FCC/IC 344 MHz radios and three ControlTL channels for CE 433 MHz radios.
** - 32 Standard channels for FCC/IC 344 MHz radios and 35 Standard channels for CE 433 MHz radios.

A PocketWizard Utility download is provided to support the FlexTT5 Transceiver via a USB port.  The Utility allows you to configure your channel settings, dial in your HyperSync timing, adjust your sleep-mode timers as well as update your product to the latest firmware.

PocketWizard MiniTT1 - Canon Transmitter - Canon (CE 433MHz)
PW-MINI-C-CE

The smallest PocketWizard radio ever, the MiniTT1® Transmitter is part of a new generation of PocketWizard radios providing E-TTL II and power control capabilities with Canon Speedlites and select studio lights.  Your creativity also extends far beyond X-Sync speeds with HyperSync™ Automation and FP Sync capabilities.

The MiniTT1™ Transmitter locks onto the camera’s hot shoe supporting an on-camera flash with its own hot shoe while working with remote PocketWizard units. Remotes can be one or more PocketWizard FlexTT5™ Transceivers connected to Canon E-TTL II flashes or any PocketWizard Receiver for triggering flash or remote cameras.

The MiniTT1 Transmitter is easy to use; just slide in place and begin to shoot.  The new PocketWizard ControlTL™ System interprets the complex E-TTL II data being sent through the camera’s hot shoe and digitally transmits it in a reliable radio signal. Change the flash compensation dial on the camera, and those commands pass seamlessly through the system to your remote flash.  Adjust your aperture or ISO and the system corrects for those changes.

Add the PocketWizard AC3 ZoneController to easily adjust up to three zones of light independently, in both E-TTL II or manual, with six stops of power adjustment. PocketWizard ControlTL radio communication allows you to shoot farther, faster, around corners, through walls even at high noon in bright daylight.  Now you can deploy a wireless i-TTL flash system wherever you want, without infrared limitations, in seconds.

Take advantage of PocketWizard’s patent pending HyperSync Automation Technology that allows camera sync well above your standard x-sync limitation with full power flash.   HyperSync Automation automatically adjust the timing of your flash trigger so that faster than X-sync speeds can be achieved.  With certain Canon camera and flash combinations you can achieve sync all the way to 1/8000th of a second.  Just imagine what you can do using flash in bright sun with wide open apertures and fast shutter speeds.  Since HyperSync is a trigger function you can use any PocketWizard Receiver including the FlexTT5, PlusII or MultiMAX.

With Canon Speedlights you can also use FP/High-Speed Sync mode and shoot at any shutter speed with compatible E-TTLII flashes.  With radio wireless, how you can use this amazing feature in bright daylight automatically.  No buttons to press or settings to change other than your shutter speed will give you flash sync all the way to 1/8000th.

PocketWizard Plus IV Trigger
PW-PLUS4

PocketWizard Plus IV Tranceiver has the many professional features we've come to expect plus TTL on-camera flash combined with remote manual flash using most Canon, Nikon, Panasonic cameras and some Fuji and Olympus equipment. The Plus IV has 32 channels (16 standard and 16 Quad Zone). Besides eliminating interference this also allows you to trigger flashes in 4 separate (A,B,C,D) zones when doing multiple setups. Auto-Sensing automatically selects the transmitter or receiver mode appropriate to the setup. Auto-Sensing also works in tandem with Auto-Relay mode to allow to can also trigger a remote camera along with remote flashes. Two-Stage Triggering technology allows to wake and focus your camera by partially depressing the test button and fire it by fully depressing it.

On-Camera TTL Flash / Remote Manual Flash

The Plus IV features a top shoe providing TTL compatiblity with most Canon, Nikon and Panasonic cameras and flashes as well as some Fuji and Olympus gear. This allows photographers the versatilty to shoot with an on-camera flash in TTL mode while triggering their remotes in manual mode. Easily slide a speedlight into the top shoe of your receiviing radio and you are ready to start triggering your remote flash in minutes. A perfect setup for wedding photographers.

Top Shoe

The top shoe on the Plus IV allows photographers to easiy set-up their speedlights. No sync cord required.

Simple User Interface

The Plus IV has an intuitive user interface where all channels, zones and modes can be easily engaged via a soft-touch keypad, and displayed on an easy-to-read backlit 2.5cm (1”) LCD display. When you’re working in dark environments, simply press any key other than TEST to illuminate the LCD.

32 Channels

With 32 channels (16 standard plus 16 Quad-Zone Triggering channels), the PocketWizard Plus IV Transceiver enables you to trigger individual or groups of lights simultaneously or individually. This is critical for working in crowded venues or with multiple lighting set-ups.

Quad-Zone Triggering

Selective Quad-Zone Triggering keeps you shooting photos, not running back and forth to your lighting or cameras. Without leaving the camera position, you can wirelessly activate or deactivate your remote flashes or cameras in 4 separately controllable zones: A, B, C, or D. This is ideal when using multiple lighting setups or turning remote cameras or flashes on and off as needed.

Auto-Sensing Transceiver

With our patented Auto-Sensing Transceiver technology, the Plus IV Transceiver is one smart radio. When set to TxRx, it will instantly and intelligently switch between transmitter and receiver modes as needed for greater flexibility on the job. The Plus IV may be set to transmit (Tx) or receive (Rx) independently if needed.

Two-Stage Remote Camera Triggering

The Plus IV Transceiver is the perfect solution for remote camera triggering. The unique two-stage TEST button on the Plus III works just like the shutter release button on your camera. Press it halfway and your remote camera connected to your Plus IV wakes up to meter and focus. Press TEST all the way to take your photo. When released, your remote camera will return to sleep mode normally; a real battery saver.

Auto-Relay Mode

Our Auto-Sensing Transceiver technology lets you trigger a remote camera in sync with remote flashes using only 3 PocketWizard radios: the one in your hands, a Plus IV cabled to your remote camera, and the one connected to your remote flash set to one channel higher.

Long Range Capability

Range is comparable to other PocketWizard radios. Shooting environments are seldom ideal, so the Plus IV incorporates two range extending modes for the challenges of the real world. Use Long Range Mode (LR) to nearly double the effective triggering distance in almost any environment.

Repeater Mode (RP)

In very challenging environments or extremely long working ranges, place a Plus IV in Repeater Mode (RP) between your transmitter and receiver to repeat the signal and complete the connection. These modes take a little extra time to do their jobs, so maximum X-sync may be reduced when firing remote flashes in LR or RP modes.

High Speed Receive

Normally, the Plus IV is capable of triggering lights or cameras at a sustained rate of up to 12 frames per second (FPS), with a standard for PocketWizard radios. Set the Plus IV to High Speed Receive Mode (HSR) and trigger at rates up to 14.5 FPS, beyond the capability of most of today’s cameras. This mode can also help high FPS triggering compatibility for any flash. TTL operation reduces the fastest FPS a system can use.

External Power and Firmware Upgradeable

The Plus IV is normally powered by two AA (IEC:LR6) batteries. For long term remote placement, use an AC adapter, like the PW-AC-USB Adapter, that plugs into the standard Mini-B USB port of the Plus IV. The USB port also enables future upgrades of the Plus IV operating system.

PocketWizard Compatible

The Plus IV is compatible with all Standard channel or simple triggering PocketWizard radios of the same frequency* including PocketWizard-enabled photo gear from Profoto, Dynalite, Norman, Photogenic and Sekonic light meters. The PocketWizard wireless system allows for total flexibility with whatever lights or cameras you may be working with. (*FCC and CE PocketWizard radios work on different frequencies)

Top Shoe: Slide the PlusX into the top shoe of the camera and secure it using the locking ring. Make sure to orient the antenna to the back of the camera while placing the radio into the hot shoe.
Sync Cable: If you are using a camera with no hot shoe, the hot shoe cannot be used, or you are remotely triggering your camera, connect the transmitting PlusX’s Flash/Camera Port to the camera’s sync terminal. The PlusX can also be connected to almost any flash using the appropriate sync cable. Visit the PocketWizard Cable Finder to find the correct cable for your camera or flash.

Channels

To change the channel on your radio simply turn the Channel Selector to find your desired channel. Turning the Channel Selector clockwise will change the channel in ascending order, turning it counter-clockwise will change the channel in descending order. When selecting your channel, make sure that the dial fully clicks into place otherwise you may not be transmitting/receiving on the correct channel.

Note: All radios MUST be on the same channel to properly trigger remote flashes or cameras (except when using Auto-Relay)

Remote Flash Triggering

With transmitting and receiving PocketWizard® radios set to the same channel, remote flashes will be synchronized with the camera.

  1. Attach a PlusX to your camera’s hot shoe. You may also connect the PlusX radio to your camera’s PC sync port using the appropriate cable.
  2. Connect a PlusX to your remote flash via the appropriate sync cable.
  3. Select a Channel. Set any other PocketWizard radios to matching the previously set Channel.
  4. Take pictures normally at or below your camera’s X-sync speed.

Momentarily pressing the TEST button will test trigger the flash.

Remote Camera Triggering

With transmitting and receiving PocketWizard® radios set to the same channel, remote flashes will be synchronized with the camera.

  1. Connect PlusX to your remote camera via the appropriate remote camera cable.
  2. Select a Channel.
  3. Press the TEST button on the transmitting PocketWizard radio or fire the camera in your hands. The remote camera will trigger.

NOTE: If you are using a handheld camera with a transmitting radio to trigger a remote camera at the same time, we suggest using a cable on BOTH cameras for best results. Some camera settings automatically disable the hot shoe, such as electronic shutter, silent shooting, or the fastest FPS setting. In these cases, you will need to use a cable on the handheld camera as the camera will not send a signal through the hot shoe.

Transmit Only Mode

Transmit Only mode allows you to disable the receiver function of the PlusX. Use this mode when sharing remote flashes with other photographers. This mode will prevent other photographers from triggering the PlusX on your camera.

To put the PlusX into Transmit Only Mode:

  1. Start with the radio powered off.
  2. Press and hold the TEST button.
  3. Turn on the radio and then release the TEST button

If performed correctly the selected Channel and LED should blink every couple seconds. In this mode, the PlusX will not be able to receive a signal, it will only transmit signals. Do not select this if you are connecting a PlusX to a receiving flash. To disable this mode simply turn the radio off and then back on again.

Auto-Realy

Auto-Relay allows you to trigger remote flashes in sync with a remote camera and requires only three PocketWizard radios. Using Auto-Relay is the only situation where not all PocketWizard radios are set to the same channel since the relaying radio triggers them one channel higher than it received on.

To preform Auto-Relay:

  1. Set your transmitting PocketWizard radio to your desired channel.
  2. Set the relaying PocketWizard radio for your remote camera to the same channel as the radio in your hands.
  3. Connect the relaying PocketWizard radio’s Flash/Camera Port to the remote camera triggering post of the camera via a remote camera cable.
  4. Slide the relaying PlusX into the remote camera’s hot shoe.
  5. Connect your remote flash to a PocketWizard receiving radio via the appropriate sync cable and set it to one channel higher than the transmitting PocketWizard radio in your hands.
  6. Press and release TEST on the PocketWizard transmitter in your hands to fire both the remote camera and remote flash in sync.

  • Simple Interface and Ease of Use
  • Reliable Radio Frequency Communication
  • Compatible with a wide range of cameras and flashes
  • Extended Range and Speed

Durable and Compact Design: The Plus X is built with a rugged, durable design that can withstand the demands of on-location shooting, and its compact size makes it easy to transport and set up.

Feature Descriptions

10 Standard Channels

With the PlusX’s 10 Standard Channels you can work in your own “zone.” Claim your own channel for exclusive triggering when working with other photographers at crowded events.  Use different channels for different setups or looks and select them simply and intuitively with the turn of a dial. And these 10 channels are compatible with every PocketWizard ever made* set to Standard Channels 1 – 10. (* radios of the same frequency)

Backlit Channel Dial

Setting channels is as easy as turning a dial. The backlit channel dial clearly displays the set channel and because the backlight consumes so little power, it stays on all the time for convenience.

Internal Antenna

The PlusX features a durable, side profile design with an unobtrusive, internal antenna minimizing visual obstruction between you and your subject. By utilizing an internal antenna, there’s no chance to kink or break it when on location. The total height of the transceiver and antenna is less than 4.2 inches, and it weighs only 4 ounces, including batteries.

Easily Connected / Cable Port

On your camera, the PlusX slides into the hot shoe with no cables required.  For your remotes, it features one do-it-all miniphone (3.5mm or 1/8”) sync port. The miniphone connector is much more reliable than a PC connection and every PlusX comes complete with a miniphone-to-miniphone cable, a miniphone-to-phono (1/4" or 6.3mm) adapter for triggering the majority of modern flashes, and a miniphone to locking PC cable for triggering some remote speedlights or for using your PlusX on-camera when you can’t put it in a hot shoe.  Other miniphone connector cables are available for major brands of lighting equipment in a variety of lengths. Dedicated remote camera triggering cables are also available for popular camera systems.

Auto-Sensing Transceiver

With our patented Auto-Sensing Transceiver Technology, the PlusX Transceiver is one smart radio. The PlusX will instantly and intelligently switch between transmitter and receiver modes keeping setup as simple as possible. The PlusX may be set to Transmit (Tx) only when needed.

Auto-Relay Mode

Our Auto-Sensing Transceiver Technology lets you trigger a remote camera in sync with remote flashes using only 3 PocketWizard radios: the one in your hands, a PlusX cabled to your remote camera, and the one connected to your remote flash. The PlusX cabled to your remote camera will receive a radio signal and trigger the camera’s motor drive, then switch to transmit mode and trigger your PocketWizard-connected remote flashes on the next channel up, all automatically.  Start the sequence by simply pressing the TEST button of any PocketWizard transmitter in your hands. Remote cameras require motor drive cables. Find the correct cable for your gear using the PocketWizard Cable Finder.

Status Indicator/Battery Life Indicator

The PlusX features a tri-color LED status indicator that serves two functions.  When the PlusX sends or receives a triggering signal, the LED will glow red.  During normal operation, the indicator will blink a single green blink meaning it is operating normally and the battery life is above 50%.  It will blink a double amber blink when the battery is below 50% but above 25% and it will blink three red blinks when the battery life is below 25% and it’s crucial to replace the batteries.

Transmit Only Mode

There are times when you only want your radio to transmit, usually when two or more photographers are sharing a set of lights.  By enabling transmit only mode, you disable the receive and auto-relay functions to make sure all your radio is doing is transmitting.

Range and Reliability

PocketWizard Plus radios are known for their range and reliability.  Although the PlusX costs less than other PocketWizard radios, you still get the range and reliability you’d expect.

Sync Speed

Ultra-fast microprocessors allow for reliable sync speeds of 1/250 for focal plane shutters and 1/500 for leaf shutters.

PocketWizard Compatible

The PlusX is compatible with all PocketWizard transmitters and receivers including PocketWizard-enabled photo gear from Profoto, Dynalite, Norman, Photogenic and Sekonic light meters. The PocketWizard Wireless System allows for total flexibility with whatever lights or cameras you may be working with.
