Display calibration is often associated with complicated setup and time-consuming steps. I myself have used display calibration regularly for the past 15 years and probably fall into the category that thinks it is a bit time consuming and maybe not the most fun part or equipment for a photographer. So I myself was very surprised at how much difference SpyderX Elite actually made compared to previous display calibrations I used, both in time and results
The calibration process itself, which previously took up to 5 minutes, now takes 1-2 minutes for complete calibration. It may not seem like a lot of time but it makes a big difference to me who does a calibration every two weeks.
SpyderX is very accurate. A glass lens concentrates the light to the measurement sensor, which provides high accuracy and sensitivity. Another sensor placed on top of the calibrator measures the existing light in the room and provides live feedback on the light conditions in the room. If, for example, direct sunlight falls on your workplace, the calibrator can alert you to it and suggest action.
SpyderX with its new software is exemplary intuitive and educational. You get help with clear on-screen instructions for each step and you can also select advanced mode where you get full control over all parameters.
SpyderX has a function for you who use several displays on one computer or have several computers (eg laptop and desktop). This feature uses a target profile to calibrate against. This means that you can get two completely different types of displays to match each other well enough to make it possible to work with images on them. SpyderX the first device I used that does this well enough. This feature that Elite offers is fantastic for us who have multiple displays and gives precise control over the matching.
For me, the calibration of my displays has become easier, faster and more accurate! So regardless of whether you already have display calibration or intend to acquire your first, I highly recommend checking out SpyderX Elite!
