Product Photography - Creating Compelling Product Images - Part 1

A photo studio for product photography can look like many songs. In this set-up we use two Elinchrom studio flashes, glass disc på checkers as a table and white wall as a background.

As main light Elinchrom studio flash with softbox 90x110 cm is used. You can adjust the size of the softbox according to the size of the product and the type of light you want. A large light source in close proximity to the subject provides a full-on light with soft shading to shadow areas. A smaller light bulb gives a harder light with a quick transition to shadow.
Used as a background light in this case a neutral white cardboard disc that is balanced with a clamp.
To whiten out the background Elinchrom studio flash with reflector 90' is used. Thanks to Elinchrom's studio flashes having a flash tree with 180° light diffusion is sufficient with only one flash for background light. The light image becomes very even over a large surface (the reflector is used to prevent unwanted stray light from appearing).
