This studio variant is suitable for you if you want to create professional car images and need to photograph about 2000-3000 used cars per year. In our car studio packages, we choose to use Elinchrom studio flashes as light sources. The studio flash has high light intensity, which means that surrounding light does not affect the photography and gives natural colors, which is very important when photographing cars. Here we present some steps that are important when you want to create a photography area suitable for car photography.

Find a space with plenty of room
To photograph cars about 5 meters in length, a photography distance of 7-8 meters is recommended, preferably more. The camera's lens should ideally correspond to a standard lens, which means an angle of view around 45 degrees. Using wide-angle lenses can reduce the shooting distance, but this type of lens causes a change in perspective of the subject, which can make the images look odd.
The ceiling height should be at least 4 meters so that the lighting gets good dispersion and the light that hits the subject is even.
Preferably use a corner with white walls
To make the background calm and not disturbing in the picture, it is an advantage to be able to place the car in a corner so that you can photograph from several angles without having to move the car. An extra plus is if the walls are neutrally white, which means that they will reflect the studio flashes' light onto the car.
If possible, sunlight should not shine directly on the car through a window.
The floor should be uniformly colored, preferably medium gray, and easy to clean.
Camera and computer
Choose a DSLR with a normal zoom and hot shoe that can be connected to a flash transmitter. The camera should have a USB port so that it can be directly connected to a computer during photography, which provides a simpler and better workflow.
