Photographer Cecilia Svensson has been running Studio Lullaby in Älta just south of Stockholm for a few years. In a small space, she creates magical images, usually with babies or small children as motifs. For a long time, Cecilia was a "daylight photographer" but has for some time now more and more switched to using studio flash with a transparent umbrella or softbox.
Cecilia started photographing and image processing professionally about 11 years ago. In a short time, she has found a personal, creative image style by experimenting and playing with different techniques in the studio and image editing. Different image ideas are tested to find a starting point to work on and finally achieve the desired result.
Studio Lullaby is only 15 sqm of which 10 sqm is used for photography. The walls are white and the ceiling height is relatively low. In most photographs, only one light source, Elinchrom BRX 250, is used, with either a transparent Deep Umbrella 125cm or a Rotalux Deep Octa 100cm softbox. Sometimes the lighting is supplemented with a reflective screen.
Of course, she derives a large part of Cecilia's drive from her family, but also from the conditions provided by the limited photo space and by using only one light source. Less hassle gives more room for creativity.
