Godox AD300 Pro TTL | Used

Used Godox Battery Powered Studio Flash AD300 Pro TTL incl transmitter for Canon and Softbox. This flash is said to have an effect on 300Ws but we want to be specific and say that there are doubts about the exact effect. In fact, it gives only slightly more brightness than the Elinchrom ONE, which has 131 Ws. We have carried out measurements and found that when the AD300 Pro is used with a white umbrella as a light shaper, it gives only a negligible difference in 2/10-f-stop jämfört with Elinchrom ONE.

We want to be transparent and inform that there is some uncertainty about the actual effect on 300Ws but unfortunately we cannot confirm this with absolute certainty. We recommend that you take this information into account when making your lighting choice.

Communication

Godox AD300 can be remotely controlled from the transmitter and app. Communication with the app takes place via the transmitter, which means that if the transmitter is turned off or goes to sleep, the app loses contact with the flash. If you ächange the effect på the flash and then press the transmitter, the information from the transmitter is sent to the flash and controls what you set on the lightning.

Photocell

Photocell seems to be missing, we can't find a way to activate it. It is not possible to trigger the flash if you do not have the transmitter

Setting lights

Godox AD300 has LED setting light that can be set proportionally and manually. The color temperature can be adjusted. However, the setting light is quite weak and can hardly be used for video filming.
Because it is not possible to use a power bank or a network connection (Active Charging), you will need to change the battery often, which in turn means that the filming will step is interrupted.

User interface

Use green interface på The Godox AD300 is both simple and circumstantial, one of the most plot-rich menus we've seen. A manual should be close at hand when setting the flash.

View is small and shows a lot of information and is experienced plot-like with very small text.

Light image

The light picture is ojämn and darkly special if you drive without a reflector like called Bar bulb. The softbox has a front fabric that is very thin and an inner fabric that only covers a small part of the center.
The softbox is not suitable for professional use.

Charging the battery

Only charge the battery with the included charger and it is not possible to charge if the battery is mounted in the flash, which means that if the battery is empty, the flash cannot be used by connecting an external source. It is not possible to use a power bank or power adapter if the battery runs out.
Cannot be charged with USB-C charger of any brand.
