There is virtually no limit to the new ways Directors of Photography find to use effective polarizers. Virtually any subject involving glare or reflections, or that is illuminated with specular light, can be improved through the skillful use of a quality polarizing filter.
Circular True-Pol® reduces glares and unwanted reflections, improves contrast, penetrates haze at long distances, deepens blue skies, and helps to maintain color saturation. An additional 1/4 wave retarder film ensures that Circular TruePol® filters also work with beamsplitting and autofocus systems.
With their absolute clarity of the glass and advanced polarizing material, TruePol® filters are particularly effective on demanding scenes, e.g. when shooting in a car through windshields or big landscape environments.
Polarizing filters like Linear and Circular True-Pol® are multi-talents that reduce glares, haze as well as unwanted reflections. On top of this, they also improve contrast and provide saturated colors.
And this is how polarizers work: Polarizing filters transmit certain planes of oscillation and absorb others. The strength of the effect can be adjusted by rotating the filter. Generally, only perpendicular waves pass the polarizer, which can lead to light loss depending on the filter's orientation.
Schneider-Kreuznach, offer both linear and circular polarizers with high extinction ratios, called Linear True-Pol® and Circular True-Pol®. Due to the absolute clarity of the glass and the advanced polarizing material, both filter types are effective on demanding scenes like shooting through windshields or in big landscape environments.
Please note that linear polarizers like our Linear True-Pol® are only suitable for Non-AF systems and must not be used with beamsplitters. However, due to an additional 1/4 wave retarder, our Circular True-Pol® is also compatible with beamsplitting and autofocus systems.
