Tips & Tricks - Avoid footprints on the background

When taking full-frame photos where the subject is standing on the paper, cut a piece of the paper from the roll so that it is over the front area where they will be standing. Be sure to tape it down so that the motif does not slide. The joint will not be noticeable if you use backlighting to brighten the white. This helps to avoid shoe marks on the white paper. When that piece gets dirty, you can flip it over or cut another small piece. A more permanent solution is to use a large matt Plexiglas panel. If you can, take full-figures separately from face portraits and half-figures and wait to drag the background down to the floor until you need it for full-figure so you don't waste paper or get more footprint than you want.

Manfrotto StudioLink Chroma key Green Screen Kit 3 x 3 m. The StudioLink is a unique modular chroma key background system for use in the studio or out on location. Available in chroma key green and blue, the StudioLink Kit 3 x 3 m (10’ x 10’) comprises a lightweight, rapid assembly, aluminium rigid frame plus a fast clip on chroma key cover. Once assembled, multiple 3 x 3 m (10’ x 10’) StudioLink screens can be joined together in various configurations; side by side in a straight line or as a curvature up to the point of creating a full 360 degree enclosure. In addition screens singularly or side-by-side can be rigged (using standard grip equipment) one above the other to create a second tier of screens.

StudioLink Connection Kit

In order to join the screens together side-by-side, the optional StudioLink Connection Kit includes three hinge brackets to join the aluminium frames and a clip on chroma key joining strip to conceal the aluminium frames and the hinge brackets. When using screens one above the other or when standing a screen on a chroma key floor, each clip on chroma key cover incorporates a six inch sewn in skirt on the bottom edge to conceal the aluminium frame and provide a continuation of the chroma key surface to the panel below or the floor

Colorama 1.35 x 11 m Chromablue, background paper for photography. The background is mounted on stable paper core with inner diameter 5.4 cm. Colorama background paper gives very little reflection and is made of strong paper, which gives good durability. The background can be advantageously mounted on wall or ceiling with Manfrotto background suspension and expander or på två strong stand with boom. See accessory list below. NOTE! To render colors correctly, a browser or image program that handles colors and professional image processing is required ;rm calibrated in Adobe RGB and with the white point set to 6500K (or exactly after the light cool background will be illuminated by when shooting). For absolutely correct assessment of colors, use the Colorama Color Chart (Swatch) which is viewed in the same light conditions as during photography.
