What the DoP say
Matthias Bolliger, a trailblazing Director of Photography and esteemed mentor, made history as the first to shoot a feature film utilizing the Radiant BlackTM Filters. Reflecting on his experience, he commends Schneider-Kreuznach's innovative approach, stating that the filters' unique composition, incorporating colored "sparkles" within the glass, not only imparts a captivating analog film aesthetic but also subtly influences black levels and overall contrast. Paired with ISCOsphericals and their vintage coating, the Radiant BlackTM Filters played a pivotal role in crafting a nostalgic "back-to-the-90s" visual style, profoundly enhancing the adaptation of the novel “A Man of His Class”
